Baithak: Redefining Vapi’s Creative Scene, One Mic at a Time
By Ashwini Tiwari | 6 September 2025
In the heart of Vapi, Gujarat, a cultural movement is quietly reshaping the town’s creative identity. It’s bold, unfiltered, and unapologetically real — welcome to Baithak, Vapi’s very own raw and real open mic platform. Founded by passionate performer and Rofel College BCA student Ashwini Tiwari, Baithak is not just a stage — it’s a statement.
At a time when most open mics across the country are chasing viral trends and curating content for the masses, Baithak dares to do something different. It celebrates authenticity. It thrives on uncensored expression. And most importantly, it gives artists a space where they don’t have to fit in — they just have to show up and be themselves.
The Birth of Baithak: A Vision Rooted in Rawness
Ashwini Tiwari’s journey with the mic began years before Baithak was born. Having performed at renowned platforms like Kala Stage and Sarv Art in Ahmedabad, and a wide array of inter-college open mics across Gujarat, Ashwini discovered not just a passion for performance, but also the power of storytelling and community.
“Every mic I picked up, every laugh I received, and every moment I spent backstage with fellow performers made me realize something — small-town artists are brimming with talent, but lack platforms,” shares Ashwini. This realization became the foundation of Baithak.
What Makes Baithak Different?
Baithak is not your typical open mic. While most platforms enforce strict content filters and steer clear of controversial material, Baithak embraces the unfiltered, the uncensored, and the unapologetic. Here, performers are free to explore the entire spectrum of human emotion — from risqué comedy and adult humor to raw poetry and intense storytelling.
Baithak prides itself on being a judgment-free space, where no topic is off-limits and no voice is silenced. Whether it’s a stand-up set laced with dark humor, a deeply personal spoken word piece, or a rap verse full of street truth — Baithak welcomes it all.
A Stage for Every Story
While stand-up comedy is a major draw at Baithak, the stage doesn’t limit itself. Singers, rappers, musicians, poets, shayars, and storytellers all find a place in this inclusive circle. Baithak is a celebration of local talent, with a strong belief that artistry isn’t exclusive to big cities — it’s alive in small towns, often waiting for a single spotlight and a listening ear.
Every Baithak event becomes a melting pot of genres, cultures, and creative expressions. And with every performance, Vapi is witnessing a cultural revival — driven by its own people, its own voices.
Baithak Goes Digital: From the Mic to the Screen
In today’s digital-first world, Baithak ensures its community reaches beyond the walls of its physical venue. The platform regularly posts Instagram reels, live performances, and behind-the-scenes glimpses, capturing not just the acts but the raw energy of the crowd and the camaraderie among artists.

The Man Behind the Mic: Ashwini Tiwari
As the visionary behind Baithak, Ashwini Tiwari is more than just a founder. He’s a performer, a curator, and a community builder. Balancing his academic life as a BCA student with the demands of organizing and hosting events, Ashwini has become a torchbearer for Vapi’s rising artist ecosystem.
“Baithak is not just my dream,” Ashwini says. “It’s a space where every unheard voice gets a mic. Every misfit finds a family. Every story finds a listener.”
His mission? To make Baithak a recognizable name not just in Vapi, but across Gujarat — and eventually, India.
Why Baithak Matters
In a world where creativity often gets diluted to suit algorithms and ad revenue, Baithak dares to remain authentic. It’s a platform by artists, for artists — built on respect, honesty, and raw passion. And for the town of Vapi, it’s more than just a cultural event — it’s a movement.
So whether you’re an aspiring performer looking for your first stage, or an audience member seeking something unfiltered and real — Baithak is your space.
