Seeya Fashion Week Goes Global — Designer Kiran Tuteja Represented India at New York Fashion Week 2025
After an exhilarating season of success in October 2024, Seeya Fashion Week (SFW) made history by crossing international borders. The platform that had been uplifting and empowering independent designers in India took the global stage on 14th September 2025 at New York Fashion Week, held at 1604 Broadway, New York — where one of its star designers, Kiran Tuteja, proudly represented India and Seeya Fashion Week.
Since its inception, Seeya Fashion Week has been more than just a runway — it has been a movement. Founded by Seema Vashishth, SFW was envisioned as a nurturing ground for new talent — a space where creativity met mentorship, and dreams found direction. Seema’s mission has always been clear: to create an ecosystem where budding designers from India can showcase their craft with confidence and credibility on both national and global stages.
The October 2024 edition of Seeya Fashion Week garnered tremendous acclaim for its focus on sustainability, inclusivity, and authentic storytelling. Building on that success, SFW’s representation at NYFW was a proud testament to how far Indian design innovation has come — and how Seema’s vision is now translating into global recognition.
Representing SFW at NYFW, Designer Kiran Tuteja, founder of “Tarashe by Kiran”, showcased a collection that beautifully fused Indian heritage with modern aesthetics.
“I have always designed for the woman I wanted to be, the woman I used to be, and the woman I am still a part of,” Kiran shared. “This collection was a continuation of my personal journey of self-discovery.”
Her designs reflected strength, nostalgia, and authenticity — each piece telling a deeply human story. Tarashe’s philosophy has always been simple yet profound:
“To enhance the beauty of every woman — not just through garments that flatter the body, but through designs that uplift the spirit.”

At New York Fashion Week, her collection drew inspiration from Madhubani paintings of Bihar, one of India’s oldest and most intricate folk art traditions. Reinterpreted through contemporary silhouettes and global styling, her designs became wearable art — connecting cultural roots with modern rhythm.
Her team of New York-based models brought this story to life on the runway, merging Indian craftsmanship with cosmopolitan energy. The garments, rich in detail, color, and emotion, celebrated the divine feminine and the beauty of imperfection — echoing the show’s larger theme of self-expression and individuality.
For Seeya Fashion Week, this moment wasn’t just about one designer — it was about a vision coming full circle.
Founder Seema Vashishth expressed her pride, saying, “Seeing our designers take the global stage validates what SFW stands for — empowerment through expression. Our goal has always been to make Indian fashion an integral part of the global dialogue.”
As Kiran’s collection graced the NYFW runway, she carried with her the creative spirit of every designer nurtured by Seeya Fashion Week — confident, original, and authentically Indian.
