The performance featured 51 characters, original music by Milind Joshi, costumes by Chaitrali Dongre, and a stage design recreating 15+ historic locations. Produced by Artistic Humans, known for organizing 75 shows in a single day and creating India’s first play on Millets—’Pruthvi Che Shetkari’, recognized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the organisation has launched India’s grand theatrical first on Indian Constitution with a cast and crew of 40 artists.

Written by acclaimed playwrights Prasad Thorve and Abhiram Bhadkamkar and directed by Kumar Sohoni, a National School of Drama (NSD) alumnus and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award winner, Rashtragranth was conceptualized by award-winning theatre maker Darshan Mahajan. Former Judge D.K. Sonawane, a distinguished guest, commended the team for their powerful storytelling and historical accuracy.

A Powerful & Engaging Performance

Principal of Government Law College, Dr. Ashmita Vaidya, praised the play for simplifying complex constitutional ideas through engaging storytelling. She stated, “The name ‘Rashtragranth’ itself is powerful. When I heard it was based on the Indian Constitution, I knew it had to be staged at our college. Every performer brought the essence of democracy to life, making difficult concepts accessible to all. Understanding the Constitution strengthens humanity, and this play delivered that message brilliantly. I have promised the team—we won’t stop at just one or two shows; we must reach 75 performances to celebrate 75 years of our democracy.”
