From Advertising and Marketing Excellence to Literary Expression: The Story of Manaswini Ojha

In a world where professional success often demands most of our time and attention, pursuing a personal passion can sometimes feel like a luxury. For Manaswini Ojha, however, creativity has never been something to be kept aside. A marketing professional by career and a poet by passion, Manaswini has built a journey that beautifully brings together two seemingly different worlds—corporate leadership and literary expression.

With a background in B.Sc. in Information Technology & Management, Manaswini currently works as a Manager/Lead in one of the leading advertising agencies. Her professional journey has allowed her to explore the fast-moving world of media, marketing, and brand communication. Yet, alongside meetings, campaigns, strategies, and professional responsibilities, poetry has remained an important part of her life.

For Manaswini, poetry is much more than writing verses. It is a way of expressing emotions, telling stories, and creating a connection with people. What began as a personal form of expression gradually became a meaningful artistic journey, taking her to open mic events and literary gatherings across cities such as Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru.

When Passion Found Its Voice

The turning point in Manaswini’s journey came when she realized that writing was not simply a hobby. It was a powerful way to express thoughts and emotions that could resonate with others.

Her early experiences at open mic events played an important role in this realization. Standing before an audience and sharing deeply personal thoughts was initially challenging, but the encouragement and appreciation she received gave her the confidence to continue. With every performance, she became more comfortable with her voice and more certain about the role poetry played in her life.

Over time, her participation expanded across numerous literary communities and platforms. She has been associated with platforms and communities including The Artist Voice, Ishwar Mic Ad Muse, The Mic Loft Studio, Rasa – The Stage, Poem, Nazm Aur Hum, Kagaz Open Mic by Pirated Artist, Poets of Pune, Phir Le Aya Dil by Team Ubuntu, Kavita Café by Monalisha Kalagram, Crossword Poet Society, Kavy Manch, Kala Manch, and several others.

Each stage brought a new audience, a new experience, and another opportunity to learn.

Finding the Courage to Step Onto the Stage

Balancing a demanding corporate career with a growing passion for poetry has not always been easy. As a Manager/Lead, Manaswini often has to manage professional responsibilities while finding time to write, attend events, and perform. Many performances have meant giving up weekends or personal time.

Beyond time management, one of her biggest challenges was overcoming self-doubt and stage fear. Sharing personal emotions with a room full of strangers can be intimidating. But instead of allowing that fear to hold her back, she used every performance as an opportunity to become more confident.

As she puts it, “The biggest obstacle wasn’t finding a stage to perform on; it was finding the courage to step onto one.”

That courage has taken her to notable venues including LuLu Mall in Bengaluru and Phoenix Mall in Pune. She has also had the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Monalisha Kalagram Art Gallery and The Habitat Studio, a renowned platform for artists and performers.

From Performance to Publication

Manaswini’s literary journey has also moved beyond live performances. She is a published writer and the proud co-author of two books, When the Unsaid Speaks and Still We Write. Both works reflect her interest in emotions, untold stories, and the thoughts that often remain unspoken.

For her, becoming a published author represents an important milestone. These books are a reflection of her belief that words can capture experiences, create conversations, and connect people in ways that ordinary communication sometimes cannot.

Her achievements, however, are not measured only by stages or publications. The connections she has made with audiences and fellow artists remain equally valuable to her.

A Message Beyond Poetry

Perhaps the most inspiring aspect of Manaswini’s journey is her belief that a person does not have to choose between a successful career and a meaningful passion.

Her corporate career has helped her develop skills in strategy, communication, leadership, and discipline, while poetry has given her a space for creativity, emotional expression, and personal connection. Rather than seeing the two identities as separate, she believes they complement one another.

Her journey also highlights the importance of creative communities. Open mic platforms and literary gatherings have provided her with opportunities to perform, learn from other artists, meet people from different backgrounds, and continuously evolve as a writer and performer.

Looking ahead, Manaswini hopes to publish more books, perform on bigger stages, and reach wider audiences through her writing and storytelling. She also hopes her journey encourages others to make space for their passions, regardless of their profession or stage of life.

Her message is simple but powerful: passion does not always have to become a profession to have value. Sometimes, it simply needs to be given the time and courage to grow.

“I am a marketer by profession, a poet by passion, and a storyteller by heart. My journey is a testament to the belief that while careers build our future, passions give meaning to our lives.”

For Manaswini Ojha, the journey continues—one poem, one stage, and one meaningful connection at a time. If anyone wants to invite me to any Open Mic events, poetic events in Pune or Bengaluru, they can contact me. Also, I am open to performing at College & University Events. Open For stage shows.
