Ekta Capoor Amazing Workplaces Certification

Building a Thriving Organization Starts Here: Insights from Ekta Capoor, Co-founder of Amazing Workplaces®

Introduction:
In today’s fast-evolving work environment, building a strong employer brand and a positive workplace culture is not just a nice-to-have, it’s essential for attracting and retaining top talent. Amazing Workplaces® helps organizations take the first key step on this journey by offering a unique certification process based on employee feedback. We sat down with Ekta Capoor, Co-founder of Amazing Workplaces®, to understand why this certification matters, and how organizations can leverage the insights it provides to close the gap between perception and reality.

Q1: Ekta, can you tell us briefly what Amazing Workplaces® is and why you started it?

We began our journey in 2018 by launching a media platform dedicated to Human Resources with the sole purpose of educating organizations and HR professionals about the best practices essential for creating the most Amazing Workplaces®. To build this knowledge base, we interacted with hundreds of CEOs, CXOs, CHROs, entrepreneurs, coaches, consultants, management authors, and subject matter experts across geographies like the US, Europe, Australia, Russia, and of course, India. These conversations gave us deep insights into the many dimensions of workplace excellence.

On the basis of this global study, our experts devised the 9-pillar framework for Creating Amazing Workplaces®, covering Culture, Leadership, Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Engagement, Learning & Development, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Compliance.

Amazing Workplaces® today is an integrated HR platform that helps organizations assess, improve, and amplify their workplace practices. Our certification process offers an objective, data-driven way to understand where organizations truly stand and how they can improve to become people-first workplaces.

If you want to enhance your employer brand, apply for the Amazing Workplaces® Certification!

Q2: What does getting the Amazing Workplaces® Certification mean for an organization?

The certification is much more than a badge or recognition. It is a reflection of an organization’s commitment to building a transparent and employee-centered workplace. The process begins with an employee satisfaction survey based on our 9-pillar framework, covering Culture, Leadership, Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Engagement, Learning & Development, DEI, CSR, and Compliance. Organizations that score over 70% are certified, which shows that a majority of employees view the workplace practices positively. But the real value lies in the detailed feedback, which helps leaders identify real gaps and opportunities for focused improvement.

Q3: In your experience, what are the most common gaps organizations tend to discover through this process?

One of the most common gaps we observe is a disconnect between management’s perception of practices and employees’ lived experiences. For example, many organizations believe they have strong learning and development programs, but employees often point out that opportunities are not accessible, or growth paths are unclear. Similarly, organizations may think their DEI practices are well embedded, but the survey feedback often highlights areas where inclusivity needs to be strengthened. The certification helps turn assumptions into data-backed insights.

Q4: What should organizations do after receiving the certification and feedback report?

Receiving the certification is the first step, but it’s the feedback that holds the real power. Leaders should take the time to analyze the report carefully and share relevant findings transparently with their teams. The goal is to create an action plan that addresses key gaps in a structured manner. For instance, if the survey highlights challenges in Leadership Communication, the organization can set up leadership coaching, regular townhalls, or peer forums to improve that. The process should be continuous, revisiting the action plan, measuring impact, and improving over time.

Q5: Can you share a success story where an organization used Amazing Workplaces® Certification to transform its workplace?

Certainly. One of our certified organizations had strong business growth but faced high attrition and low engagement scores in specific pillars like Learning & Development and Employee Engagement. After going through our certification process, they realized that their existing L&D programs were not well aligned with employees’ career aspirations. They revamped their approach by introducing personalized learning paths and clear promotion frameworks. Within the next 12 months, they saw a measurable improvement in employee engagement and a significant drop in attrition. Their management also reported that the certification became a great conversation starter with new candidates, strengthening their employer brand externally.

Q6: What advice would you give to HR leaders who are considering starting this journey today?

Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Employee experience is not a checkbox, it’s an ongoing commitment. The first step is to seek honest feedback and be ready to act on it. Our certification helps create a structured process for that. Most importantly, foster an open mindset, embrace both good and bad feedback as opportunities to grow. Leaders who do this consistently build not only amazing workplaces but also resilient organizations that thrive in change.

Closing Thought:
The Amazing Workplaces® Certification is a powerful starting point for any organization committed to evolving its culture and practices. As Ekta Capoor highlights, it’s not just about the badge but about using actionable insights to build sustainable employee satisfaction and engagement. In an era where talent is the biggest asset, investing in your workplace culture is investing in your future.
